The Denver Broncos are looking to beef up the defensive side of the ball with more talent up front rushing the quarterback. In the 2025 NFL draft, the Broncos picked up Alabama linebacker Que Robinson and LSU defensive lineman Sai’vion Jones. Tor rookie minicamp this week, the team also brought in a local outside linebacker to try out for the 90-man roster.

CSU-Pueblo outside linebacker Makeah Scippio (6-4, 235 pounds) was a standout for the NCAA Division II ThunderWolves. A true Colorado product from Colorado Springs, Scippio was recognized for his efforts on the field. Scippio was named a two-time RMAC All-Conference, two-time NFFCC All-Colorado and the 2024 Gene Upshaw Award (given to the top lineman, offensive or defensive in DII football) nominee.

In his four-year stint with the ThunderWolves, Scippio totaled 131 tackles (64 solo, 67 assisted) one interception returned for a touchdown, 31.5 tackles for loss, along with 21.0 sacks, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
