Do the New York Knicks stand a chance against the Boston Celtics?

Do the New York Knicks stand a chance against the Boston Celtics in their 2025 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals second round series set to start on Monday (May 4) at TD Garden? In the 2024-25 NBA regular season, the Knicks lost every game they played to the Celtics (and only one of those four contests was truly even close, ending in an extra period Boston win).

What would have to happen for the Knicks to give the Celtics a real run for their money in this East Semis series? Is there a path to a Knicks upset barring an injury to a key Boston star? Or will the Celtics advance to face the winner of the Cleveland Cavaliers series with the Indiana Pacers concurrently unfolding in the East playoffs?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Still Poddable” podcast, Brian Robb, Sam Packard, and Jay King, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk over how or if such an outcome could be in the cards. Check it out!
