The New York Jets addressed plenty of holes and needs on their roster during the 2025 NFL draft.
But it’s impossible for any team to hit all of them in one go.
While the additions of top picks Armand Membou and Mason Taylor, and more of the 2025 draft class will instill more hope and promise, there is always room for improvement.
Where about?
Here are the Jets’ top-three needs following the 2025 NFL draft:
Wide receiver
Georgia wide receiver Arian Smith was selected by New York in the fourth round of the draft. He could work out… or not. It’s hard to make a prediction on any rookie, let alone a mid-round pick.
Receiver could have been on the table for the Jets earlier in the draft but it didn’t happen. Garrett Wilson is a top playmaker but he needs help… the front office is hoping someone between Smith, Allen Lazard, Josh Reynolds and others, steps up into a solid No. 2 option.
Running back
Breece Hall rumors are swirling in New York. He’s on the Jets’ roster for now… and could be all of next season. But if he’s not, the options behind him are really unknown. Braelon Allen saw run early on last season, but not enough to be confident in him just yet… and no one else was added during the draft.
The Jets are clearly all in on Justin Fields… and that’s not a bad thing… but it could be eventually. If Fields does not work out, there is no safety net behind him on the roster.
