The San Francisco Giants have reached a one-year deal to sign nine-time All-Star pitcher Justin Verlander, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports.

Terms of the agreement were not initially reported. Verlander, who turns 42 in February, will join the Giants for his 20th MLB season. The deal signals a return to the National League for Verlander after he briefly pitched for the New York Mets in 2023.

This is a breaking story that will be updated.
