Add Shough to the list of QBs the Rams have shown interest in
With the 2025 NFL Draft just one day away, the Los Angeles Rams continue to be linked to the quarterbacks in this year’s class. They’ve shown interest in both Jaxson Dart and Jalen Milroe, spending time with both prospects during the pre-draft process.
We can now add another quarterback to the list of possible targets for Los Angeles. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, there are some within the Rams organization who are “very high” on Louisville’s Tyler Shough.
Shough is viewed as a fringe first-round prospect who’s more likely to go in the second round, but considering Los Angeles doesn’t have a second-rounder, he’s someone to watch early on.
Here’s what Fowler wrote about Shough’s stock heading into Thursday night.
Louisville’s Tyler Shough has emerged late, with great arm strength and 6-foot-5 size. “He’s my No. 2 quarterback,” an AFC executive said. And one NFL general manager went as far as to say he would not be surprised if Shough went on Day 1. I’ve heard that some people with the Rams are very high on Shough (though they don’t have a second-round pick), and the Giants have done a lot of work here, too.
To be clear, just because some people within the organization are high on Shough doesn’t mean the Rams will strongly consider taking him with the 26th pick. There may just be some scouts or talent evaluators who like his upside. Les Snead and Sean McVay may feel completely different.
Shough has been pegged as a pro-ready quarterback with his experience as a 25-year-old prospect who played under center a lot in college. Last season at Louisville, he threw for 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns with only six interceptions in his only season as a full-time starter.
