Where LSU softball ranks in RPI following SEC Tournament loss

Despite losing to Oklahoma in the second round of the SEC Tournament, LSU softball remains well-positioned in the updated RPI rankings.

The Tigers rank No. 4 in the country in RPI after a 41-win regular season. LSU is No. 3 in the SEC behind No. 1 Texas A&M and No. 2 Florida. Eight of the top 10 teams in RPI hail from the SEC.

LSU will certainly be a top-16 seed and host a regional in Baton Rouge, but LSU is hoping to earn a top-eight seed, which would mean a chance to host a Super Regional should LSU advance out of the first weekend.

Head coach Beth Torina’s team hasn’t been to the World Series since 2017. LSU advanced to the Super Regional last year at Stanford but dropped the three-game series against the Cardinal. The Tigers will learn their fate during the 2025 NCAA Division I Selection Show on Sunday at 6:00 PM CT. It will air on ESPN2.
